A developing controversy has embarrassed Democrats and surprised Republicans. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) faces investigation after someone filed a complaint about questionable donations. The representative received these donations through ActBlue, the Democrat Party's main fundraising platform. Sholdon Daniels, Crockett's conservative attorney opponent, found more information about Crockett's possible donation fraud. He shared these details on X.

The conservative Coolidge-Reagan Foundation sent a complaint to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) on March 26, 2025. This complaint caused the FEC to start an official investigation of Rep. Crockett's campaign. The investigation examines a 73-year-old donor named Randy Best. Best lives in Texas and reportedly gave multiple donations to Crockett's campaign. These donations totaled over $16,000. However, Sholdon Daniels spoke with Mr. Best's wife about these donations. She said she did not know the donations happened.

Sholdon Daniels shared a video on X on March 11, 2025. In this video, he explained his personal investigation into suspicious donations to her campaign. He described how he visited the Bests' home to hear their story. While filming himself driving to meet the Bests, Daniels said, "Someone here giving that much money to a candidate in our district seems very odd. Maybe they have a special connection to the district. Let's go find out."

Daniels met Mrs. Best and asked if she knew about the donations. He wanted to know if the retiree was aware that she and her husband had given over $16,000 to Rep. Crockett's campaign. Mrs. Best said she had no knowledge of the donations. Daniels explained to his X followers how strange the situation was. He considered the Bests' age and location. He added, "This guy is a 73-year-old retiree who does not work."

Daniels investigated the odd nature of the Bests' donations to Crockett's campaign further. He told his X audience, "His wife opened the door. She said they had no idea what these charges were. They had no idea they were charged $16,000 or that they are responsible for $16,000 in political contributions to Jasmine Crockett. Yes, she has them listed as political contributors. Remember, I'm way up here in Plano. I'm in a completely different county."

The FEC started its investigation of Crockett's campaign after receiving the complaint from the Coolidge-Reagan Foundation. The complaint's main point matched what Sholdon Daniels presented. The complaint stated: "Rep. Crockett, through her main campaign committee, Respondent Jasmine for US, has received thousands of other donations through ActBlue totaling over $870,000. We do not know how many of these are similar fraudulent transactions, made using the names of unsuspecting innocent people who did not actually provide the funds."

Dan Backer, a Washington attorney who works for the Coolidge-Reagan Foundation, made a smart prediction about the starting investigation. He said Rep. Crockett and other Democrats might try to escape corruption charges. Backer told The Daily Signal, "Rep. Crockett and other Democrats could use a reasonable defense. They might say, 'We did not ask for those donations. They all came from ActBlue.' But that would be willful blindness."

ActBlue responded to the investigation with a statement. They said their methods always follow the law. They claimed the charges against Rep. Crockett show partisan bias. The Daily Signal contacted both ActBlue and Crockett's congressional office for comments. Neither organization chose to respond.
