WATCH: Dozens of Democrats Storm Capitol to Protest Trump, Get Arrested

About two dozen demonstrators burst into the House Energy and Commerce Committee's budget reconciliation markup session. They opposed reported Medicare reductions. Democrats praised these protesters despite their shameful and possibly unlawful behavior. This drew widespread criticism.

Democrats have treated January 6 as a solemn memorial day since that incident occurred. Mainstream media personalities supported the dangerous George Floyd disturbances but react with extreme emotion when discussing the Capitol riot events.

A major conservative social media account shared video footage of the disputed demonstration from May 13, 2025. The post stated: "Democrat seniors are conducting an insurrection and trying to force their way past Capitol Police at the Rayburn House Office Building."

The clear double standard angered social media users who voiced their frustration in comments. One person wrote: "Will @GOPoversight investigate this? Democrats illegally entered the ICE detention center and now this happens. J6 defendants received no due process that these people demand."

Many comments drew parallels between Democratic reactions to this demonstration and their statements about January 6th riots. One comment stated: "They can do this without getting shot like Ashley, without arrest like J6ers, without being called insurrectionists like Trump supporters. Stop this nonsense and arrest them all." Another person agreed: "That looks exactly like J6! Anyone seen Ray Epps? Scaffold Commander? Are Capitol Police using rubber bullets and tear gas on the crowd yet?"

Several users mocked the dramatic language liberals use about January 6th. One person joked: "I am shaking right now. This attacks our democracy directly. We should imprison them forever! Am I correct?" Another added: "This is history's worst day! Like Pearl Harbor! Like WWII! Democrats are attacking our country and trying to overthrow the US government! We must stop them completely! Prison them immediately!"

One user criticized their protest: "They want Medicaid recipients to think Republicans are making severe program cuts while they heroically try to stop them. Republicans are actually cutting waste, fraud, and abuse. These elderly troublemakers are lying again."

Someone reacted to the footage by saying: "Sen. Cory Booker thanks arrested insurrectionists for preventing government work. Democrats condemn J6 while participating in insurrections, trespassing, and encouraging violence against police. Do you see what is happening?"

A user replied to Sen. Booker on a separate post: "Democrat demonstrators invaded the Rayburn Building and organized an uprising in DC today. This surpasses Pearl Harbor and 9/11 in severity. Sen. Cory Booker deserves impeachment for organizing an uprising since he thanked them."
