“Can’t even tie his own shoes”: Mary Trump rips into uncle Donald as ‘cognitive decline’ fears grow
Mary Trump Once Again Criticizes Her Uncle Donald Trump With Strong Words
Mary Trump, the niece of former U.S. President Donald Trump, has once again grabbed headlines by delivering severe criticism of her uncle. As a trained psychologist and well-known author, she made powerful statements concerning the former president's mental health.
A Time of Foolish Behavior?
Donald Trump has always worked hard to present himself as a symbol of authority and resilience. However, more and more mental health experts are beginning to suggest that this image of strength could be concealing a fragile inner state.
During a recent segment on MSNBC’s The Weekend: Primetime, an eye-opening analysis was discussed. The report indicated that Donald Trump might be deeply concerned about developing the same cognitive issues that his father, Fred Trump Sr., suffered from in old age. Fred Sr. was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease during his later years, a fact that may be haunting the former president.
Adding fuel to the fire, someone with intimate knowledge of Trump's behavior has once again questioned his psychological stability: his own niece.

A Psychologist’s Ongoing Warnings
Mary Trump, who holds a Ph.D. in psychology, has been cautioning the public for years about what she describes as her uncle's mental and emotional instability. On her YouTube program, Trump Trolls Trump, she recently made new remarks that sparked fresh debate. In her words, the country has entered “a phase of foolishness” under his leadership.
According to Mary, her uncle’s cognitive abilities seem to be declining.
“We’ve just experienced 166 days of this administration’s chaos—days filled with fear, disorder, and utter confusion. But we also have to be honest with ourselves and call it what it truly is: a time of absolute foolishness,” she declared during one episode.
She continued her critique with biting humor and brutal honesty.
Mary is the author of the bestselling book Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man, in which she extensively outlines the psychological traits she believes make Donald Trump unfit for leadership.
“Time flies when everything feels awful,” she said, “and when democracy is slowly strangled by a man who probably struggles to tie his own shoelaces.” Her comment, though sarcastic, reflects her deep concern.
Blunt Criticism, With a Dash of Sarcasm
While her remarks are scathing, Mary did offer what she called a strange sort of compliment.
“Donald doesn’t do much competently, but I will give him this: he manages to combine deteriorating brain function with an endless obsession with himself. That’s a rare kind of two-for-one failure.”
Mary didn’t stop there. She also took aim at his most recent public appearance, in which he visited the newly opened immigration facility in Florida, nicknamed “Alligator Alcatraz.” When asked by reporters how long detainees would be held there, Trump went off-topic and rambled about taxes in New York and renovations in the White House.
Her response was immediate and scathing: “The question was about the prison, not whether you enjoy being in Florida. And he couldn’t even answer that. Why? Because he doesn’t have an answer.”
According to Mary, her uncle appears increasingly disoriented. “He seems even more confused than he used to be. His attention span is like that of a toddler, and that issue didn’t start yesterday,” she remarked.

Outrage Over Misinformation and Greed
She also voiced frustration about what she sees as Donald Trump’s continuous pattern of misleading the American people. “I’m disgusted by this dangerous idiot who continues to block Americans from hearing the truth about anything that matters,” she said, visibly angry.
Mary then turned her focus to Trump’s latest business venture: an extremely pricey cologne named Victory, which was launched on Truth Social. The perfume, priced at $249 per bottle, includes a miniature golden statue of Trump himself.
In her view, this is nothing short of outrageous. “A sitting president—or even a former one—should not be profiting off the office,” she argued. “This is repulsive, but unfortunately, this is what happens when no boundaries are respected.”
She ended her commentary with a sharp remark: “Just imagining what that dreadful scent smells like is a punishment to anyone whose brain still works properly.”
